Job Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Interventional Nurse to work within a state of the art setting in a new and developing private hospital in the heart of Kent. Working as part of a skilled team, you will work across all specialities within the interventional suite, recovery and pre assessment.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of excellent patient care, ensuring consistently high standards are maintained.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Providing care and support to patients throughout their pathway with KIMS Hospital including pre-operative assessment right through to discharge
  • Able to Scrub for a case load of patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation and pacing
  • Pre-operative assessment of patients prior to procedure
  • To cannulate and take blood from patients
  • Assist and train day unit staff in the recovery of patients post cardiac procedures.
  • Ensure that own professional development is maintained and enhanced

Person Specification:

  • Be a confident RGN with extensive post-registration clinical experience
  • Have experience of working in a busy cardiac catheter laboratory, assisting with pacing, angiogram, PCI, Electrophysiological studies
  • Significant knowledge of clinical governance and its application
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and its application
  • Enthusiastic and passionate

Preparation is key

Before your interview, take the time to research your potential new employer, finding out about their company values and what you might expect working there. Have a clear travel plan ready for the day of the interview, allowing extra time for possible delays - being punctual will allow you time to gather your thoughts and check your notes. Take reassurance from knowing that your interviewer can often be as nervous as you. Be polite, honest and open, maintaining eye contact with them. Talk as clearly and confidently as you can and if you don’t understand a question, ask for clarification. When answering, focus on positive experiences and be prepared to go into detail about your previous positions and your future aspirations.
