Professional Profile
Dr Gerry Saldanha qualified from St Thomas Hospital London in 1989, holding a number of Specialist Registrar posts including the Brook Hospital, Guy’s Hospital, The Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Hospitals and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London.
He carried out laboratory research into basic mechanisms of neuropathic pain and migraine and is running a small clinical trial in multiple sclerosisthe use of Botox for chronic migraine within the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He provides a Botox for chronic migraine clinic locally.
He is currently Chair of the specialist training committee for the training Neurology Registrars in London Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deaneries with responsibility for the training of up to 70 Registrars Training Programme Director for South London Neurology Registrar trainees looking after the education of approximately 40 trainees.
He is a CPD advisor for The Royal College of Physicians in London. Dr Saldanha attained a degree in Chemistry at Keble College, Oxford before completing his Medical Degree at St Thomas’s Hospital.
