Professional Profile
Mr Charles is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in adult hip, knee and foot disorders.
After obtaining an Honours degree, he qualified as a doctor from UCL Medical School in 2004. He completed his Orthopaedic training in the London Deanery. Whilst in training, he gained a postgraduate Master’s degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
Mr Charles was awarded The Charnley Latta Travelling Scholarship and completed an internationally renowned Fellowship at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. There he undertook specialist training from leading surgeons in hip and knee surgery and gained exposure to the latest techniques in foot surgery.
On his return to England, he was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, and works at both Darent Valley and Queen Mary’s Hospitals.
He is committed to higher surgical training and has gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education, is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers and also teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Mr Charles provides an expert and personal service using the best techniques to deliver excellent patient outcome.
