Sevenoaks Medical Centre celebrates second birthday!

Blog News 16th March 2022 Enquiries & appointments

This week Sevenoaks Medical Centre is celebrating its second birthday!

In the two years since the centre was acquired by KIMS Hospital, we have enhanced the services we offer the people of Sevenoaks and surrounding areas. By offering fast and convenient appointments with expert consultants and access to a range of facilities for scans, tests and outpatient treatments, quality private healthcare is available without the need to travel to London.

As part of KIMS Hospital, Sevenoaks Medical Centre offers a clinical pathway to KIMS Hospital if further treatment or surgery is required.

Debbie Anderson, General Manager of Sevenoaks Medical Centre, commented, “It has been an exciting first two years for Sevenoaks Medical Centre, with lots more to come! We are welcoming more patients and continually introducing new services, such as Bupa Health Assessments, NHS Hip and Knee clinics and a One Stop Breast Clinic.

“We have a Patient Forum in conjunction with KIMS Hospital, and are looking for new members who want to play an active role in shaping healthcare and enhancing the care and services we offer.

“We are proud to be part of the Sevenoaks community, offering seamless access to safe, outstanding quality healthcare, sponsoring Sevenoaks Rugby Club and working with community groups, as well as being a venue for a Covid-19 vaccine centre during 2021, and we are looking forward to doing much more.”

BUPA Health Assessments

In the spring, Sevenoaks Medical Centre will begin offering Bupa Health Assessments.

This is a preventative health check that uses medical and non-invasive tests to give a current health and wellbeing overview. Our trained nurses and health advisers carry out all our assessments and can discuss any specific health concerns you may have. If needed, our team can also arrange NHS follow-up appointments or private GP referrals for further treatment or diagnostic tests. Anyone is welcome to book a health assessment – you don’t have to be an existing Bupa member.

NHS Hip and Knee clinics

Continuing with our support of the NHS and following on from the collaboration with the Sevenoaks Primary Care Network when we were a venue to vaccinate the most vulnerable members of the community, we are now providing an NHS pathway for patients to choose to have their NHS Hip and Knee pathway started with us. Patients can make a request to their GP to be seen at Sevenoaks Medical Centre by a KIMS Hospital Consultant. Initial consultations, any further diagnostic procedures and pre-assessment will take place at Sevenoaks Medical Centre, and operations will take place at KIMS Hospital with its state-of-the-art facilities. Any post-operative physical therapy will be undertaken back at the centre.

One Stop Breast Service

We have developed a One Stop Breast Service, for systematics and asymptomatic patients, with state-of-the-art equipment, enabling all tests to be carried out during one appointment. Our Breast Clinics are supported by a team of highly skilled Mammographers, Specialist Breast Consultants, Specialist Breast Radiologists, Breast Care Nurses and Care Support Workers.

Our One Stop Breast Clinic offers weekly consultant-led clinics. These are held on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Our Asymptomatic Clinic is held Monday to Friday, for people who have asked their GP to refer them if they are worried about breast cancer but do not have any symptoms.

We have just invested in a state of the art Senographe Pristina Mammography System, a 3D mammography system that is more comfortable for patients, resulting in a better overall breast exam experience. It was designed to ease anxiety when the patient enters the exam room, with a new, inviting gantry that promotes a sense of calm, with elegant lighting and gentle, rounded shapes. The soft armrests have replaced the typical hand grips. So rather than tensing muscles to hold a hand grip, patients can rest their arm comfortably on the arm rest and relax their muscles, which can simplify compression and image acquisition.
