We specialise in providing safe and effective breast uplift surgery that is right for youSometimes, significant weight loss or childbirth can leave excess, saggy skin around your breasts. A breast lift can remove the excess skin, lift the nipple and reposition breast tissue to improve fullness.
We’ll help you find the treatment that’s right for you
When you book a consultation, you can choose to have this at KIMS Hospital or Sevenoaks Medical Centre and you will be seen by the Consultant who will perform your surgery at KIMS Hospital. Your Consultant will provide you with guidance on the results you can expect, the recovery time and the additional information you need to help make the right decision for you. Your Consultant will also follow you all the way through your recovery. This relationship is important to help you get the best possible results.
Your Consultant will discuss all the options available to you, sometimes implants can be used at the same time as an uplift to lift the breast tissue and also to increase the size of the breasts. You will also be assessed for the different possible scar patterns including the “Circular-scar” (just around the areola of the nipple), “Lollipop-scar” (around the areola and down to the fold of the breast), or “Anchor-shaped-scar” (around the areola, down to the breast fold and along the fold of the breast).

FAQs
What does breast uplift surgery involve?
The procedure will be performed under general anaesthetic and take about two to three hours. You will also have local anaesthetic injections to help numb the pain where areas will be sore afterwards.
Once under general anaesthetic your Consultant will remove excess skin, lift the nipple and reposition breast tissue with special stitches. Following your initial examination, your Consultant will be able to advise you on the type of procedure required.
The incision will be closed with dissolvable stitches and a drain inserted to collect any excess fluid. When you wake up, the wounds will have dressings on them and you will be wearing a supportive bra.
Where will my surgery take place?
Regardless of where you had your initial consultation, all surgical procedures take place at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone. Most outpatient appointments, including scans and tests, and follow up appointments with your Consultant, can take place at either KIMS Hospital or Sevenoaks Medical Centre.
Will I need to stay in hospital overnight?
After a breast uplift you will normally stay in hospital for one night.
How long is the recovery period for a breast uplift?
Some pain and swelling is common following uplift surgery. You will be given some painkillers to go home with, and should continue to wear a supportive, comfortable, non-underwired bra for six weeks following surgery.
After two weeks you should be able to return to work and can then return to normal activities, as comfortable over the next few weeks. It is recommended that you do not do anything strenuous or carry out any vigorous exercise during the first six weeks. It is important not to drive until you feel completely comfortable and confident, always check your insurance policy.
What will the results look like?
You will have scars on the breasts, which will always be visible, but will mature over 18 months following surgery. The nipples and breast tissue will be positioned higher on the chest, and the skin will be tighter. It will take some months for all of the swelling to settle. It is important to realise that the breasts will continue to move after surgery, and that a bra will still need to be worn. Even after uplift surgery, your breasts will continue to change due to gravity and ageing.
Your bra size will not necessarily change after uplift surgery, but it may do. You may need to change the style and shape of your bras to suit your new breast shape. If you have particularly large breasts, a breast reduction may be a better operation for you.
