KIMS Hospital Great Christmas Bake Off Raises Over £300 for The Heart of Kent Hospice

Entries were judged by a panel of six, including staff from KIMS Hospital and the Heart of Kent Hospice.
Great British Bake Off Finalist, 2016, Jane Beedle, was on hand to present the winners with their prizes. Jane Beedle, Great British Bake Off Finalist, 2016, comments, “I’m delighted to present the KIMS Hospital Christmas Bake Off winners their prizes and help support their charity of the year, Heart of Kent Hospice. It was a fantastic effort by staff at the hospital and I thought the standard of entries was extremely high.”
Staff at KIMS Hospital could enter their festive bakes into three different categories, with winners and runners up announced following judging. The Cakes and Gingerbread Houses category was won by Head of Business Development, Hannah Browning, who designed and built a gingerbread house. The Cupcakes and Cake Pops category was won by staff nurse, Rachel Hare, who made intricate snowmen cake pops and the final category of Cookies and Mince Pies was won by Michelle Darby, finance, who made traditional Swedish Christmas cookies.
After the results of the bake off were announced, the cakes were sold to staff and visitors at the hospital. Healthcare Assistant, Zoe Garnham-Archer, made a beautiful snowman cake which was also raffled off to raise money for the Heart of Kent Hospice.
In total, KIMS Hospital raised over £300 on the day, and over the past year have raised over £5,000 for the Heart of Kent Hospice.
