Mr Rowan Connell is a West Kent Consultant who was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist to the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2004 and prior to this he trained at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London. All of Mr Connell’s training has taken place in the London and South East regions.

He works as a general Gynaecologist and is also a Urogynaecoloist that specialises in the management of prolapse, incontinence, bladder issues and vaginal surgery. Mr Connell specialises in all areas of prolapse surgery and female incontinence including urodynamic testing, non-surgical procedures, SSF and suspension surgery. Mr Connell is able to perform laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopic hysterectomy procedures.

Mr Connell specialises in the symptoms of the menopause including vaginal atrophy and hormonal replacement therapy (HRT).

He is an expert in the use of new and innovative techniques which are used to manage prolapse and continence. He introduced laparoscopic subtotal hysterectomies (day-case hysterectomies) to local hospitals over 15 years ago and these techniques are used to reduce complications of treatment and to improve clinical outcomes.

Mr Connell is committed to training and research and is widely published in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
