Mr Elghalhud is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the field.
Husam specialises in cataract surgery having done approximately 10,000 cataracts. This includes both simple and complex cases and implanting lenses (both standard and premium).
He practiced at the Pennine Acute Trust where he was the Retina and Theatre Lead, and supervises trainee surgeons. currently working privately in London and Kent.
Husam qualified as a doctor in 1998, after which he completed a sub-speciality fellowship in Cataract and Anterior segment at the Queen Victoria Hospital Sussex. He also undertook his specialist training in London (worked at Moorfields and Kings) and Kent. Mr Elghalhud went on to improve and develop the trusts he works at by improving cataract complication rates, and bringing innovative treatments such as inravitreal injections for macular degenerations and Argon retina laser.
