Professional Profile
Dr Ryan is a Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician. He trained at Cambridge University and Guys Hospital and achieved an MD in Osteoporosis.
He trained specifically in Nuclear Medicine at Guys Hospital and then worked as a full time Nuclear Medicine consultant at Medway Maritime Hospital for 26 years.
Dr Ryan introduced SPECT CT, sentinel node imaging, DAT scans, and many other studies into clinical practice. He has around 50 peer reviewed original papers on Nuclear Medicine and Osteoporosis.
Dr Ryan is able to cover the spectrum of Nuclear Medicine imaging at KIMS Hospital and has particular interest in isotope bone imaging, thyroid and parathyroid imaging with several scientific papers relevant to these.
He reports on bone density scans at KIMS Hospital and has a strong interest and an extensive number of research papers on the subject of osteoporosis.
We want to make sure that it is clear to patients that you are not available for Outpatient Consultations, with this in mind we would advise adding a statement along the lines of the below.
Dr Ryan is unavailable for Outpatient consultations but is able to accept Nuclear Medicine Imaging referrals from other consultants for their patient to have scans conducted.
