Dermal fillers
Instantaneous anti-wrinkle treatment for supple, more youthful looking skinHyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally found within the body, contributing to our skin’s moisture levels and appearance of younger, supple skin. As we age, the levels of the substance within our body begin to drop, meaning our skin is more prone to the effects of aging and may begin to appear dry or less hydrated. Dermal fillers are injections that use hyaluronic acid to restore volume to areas of our skin where it has depleted and can also be used to fill out wrinkles and creases in the skin.

FAQs
What will dermal fillers involve?
A choice of numbing cream or local anaesthetic, which is dependent on the area to be treated, is given before the treatment is started. The filler is then injected into the dermis, which is the middle layer of the skin, in small increments using a very fine needle. The results are immediately apparent.
The injecting time can vary as it is volume dependent, but normally takes between 10 and 30 minutes per area. The change in volume is immediately noticeable, however, it is common for the treated area to be a little swollen, red or slightly bruised for a short time after treatment.
Will it hurt?
Following treatment there may be some side effects such as redness, bruising, swelling and mild lumpiness. These usually resolve within a few hours of treatment, but bruises may last a few days.
After your treatment you should avoid using make-up over the treated area. Very gentle massage and an ice pack may help reduce the swelling and bruising.
Where will my procedure take place?
You can choose to have dermal filler injections and any follow up appointments at either KIMS Hospital or Sevenoaks Medical Centre, regardless of where you had your initial consultation.
