Professional Profile

Mr Simon Ellis studied medicine at St John’s Cambridge and then Charing Cross Hospital. He was appointed consultant knee surgeon for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 1996.

His main interest is soft tissue knee surgery, particularly anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction for which he uses the technique developed by Professor Howell which allows rapid rehabilitation and potential return to sport by 4 months following reconstruction.

In addition to carrying out arthroscopic knee surgery he also specialises in knee replacement using the Oxford partial knee replacement and the Depuy Trumatch knee replacement using personalised jigs ensuring ideal alignment for each patient.
